The nineties are back and Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo are the leaders of the revival. The ladies from Stockholm started Icona Pop four years ago after meeting at a party. Inspired by indiepop, electrohouse and punk they wrote debut single Manners (2011) and released it on French label Kitsuné. The songs quality was immediately recognized across the world and in the months that followed everyone from NME, The Guardian, Rolling Stone to Pitchfork and countless others praised the Swedish duo. The two moved to the US to work on their recently released self titled debut album, after touring the States with Passion Pit and Matt & Kim, playing SXSW, seeing their music appear in commercials, films and tv-series and the American charts.
