The EBBA ceremony – Experience it for Yourself!

The winners of the European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA) 2018 will perform on January the 17th in Groningen at the one and only EBBA ceremony. The winner of the Public Choice Award will also be announced during this official award show, presented by BBC TV host Jools Holland. The event can be watched online through this website, but if you prefer the idea of the full live experience, sign-up for the chance of a free ticket!

Do you, as a member of the audience, want to be part of the EBBA ceremony on January 17th at 6:30 PM (CET) in the MartiniPlaza, Groningen? To get hold of a free ticket, there are two options:

  • Vote for your favourite EBBA winner
. Anyone who votes for the Public Choice Award is automatically a candidate to win a trip to Groningen with a friend. The travel, hotel and Eurosonic tickets are all included. Please be aware that voting is only possible until Christmas, and winners will be notified in person at the beginning of January.
  • Sign-up through the EBBA application form. For anyone living nearby, or wanting to arrange their own Groningen trip, this is the EBBA application form. Tell us in your most passionate and enthusiastic words why you just have to be at the show, and you just might receive one of the free tickets. You will be notified in person at the start of January if your application has been successful. This only concerns a free ticket for the EBBA ceremony. NOT included are: festival tickets for Eurosonic Noorderslag, hotel and transport.

The EBBA winners of 2018

This year Eurosonic Noorderslag is hosting the 15th edition of the European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA). The European music prize for upcoming acts has been awarded to Alice Merton (Germany), Alma (Finland), Blanche (Belgium), Kristian Kostov (Bulgaria), Off Bloom (Denmark), Salvador Sobral (Portugal), Sigrid (Norway), Skott (Sweden), The Blaze (France) and Youngr (UK). These ten artists have all earned an EBBA through the success of their first release outside their home territory. Unfortunately Salvador Sobral and The Blaze are unable to attend, but all the other winners will perform at the EBBA ceremony.
