Stromae is a complete artist who allies melodies, words and images with originality and adapts himself to all sorts of styles. The artistic fingerprint of this young maestro is not only revealed in his texts but also in his videos, which he directs himself.
Stromae began his career as a rapper in the group Suspicion with J.E.D.I. in 2005; his most notable track was entitled 'Faut que t'arretes le rap' and it was this which initially allowed him to make a name for himself within the music scene. He self produced and released a 4 track maxi in 2007, featuring 'Juste un cerveau', 'Un flow', 'Un fond et un mic'. He continued making name with the tracks 'Minimalistyle' and 'C'est Stromae'.
In 2008 he signed as a composer to 'Because Music and Kilomaitre'. He composed several titles for Kery James on the album 'A L'Ombre du Show Business', this went on to become a gold record, having sold over 75,000 copies. Other notable collaborations were with Melissa M and Anggun.
Since January 2009, Stromae has dedicated himself to the creation of his debut album. He got Internet users to discover the lessons of Stromae. The first lesson was the infamous 'Up saw liz...'. It was however lesson number 8 that was to be the catalyst for immediate success as the track 'Alors on danse' went on rotation on French radio station NRJ in June 2009. Since then he appeared in numerous clubs all over Belgium, allowing the public to discover his talent.
